Prof. Dr. John Esposito, Conversation with Students of Islamic Sciences

Prof. Dr. John Esposito (born May 19, 1940) is an American professor of International Affairs and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University in Washington. He is also the director of the Prince Alwaleed  Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown. He is one of the most renowned researchers in the field of Islamic Studies in the west and he came to visit the Bedër University because of the Conference which was held on 20th March in the Tirana International Hotel titled with “Islam and Global Peace”. On Saturday 21st March he paid a visit to the Bedër University and conducted a conversation with the academic staff and students of the Department of Islamic Sciences at Bedër University.

Professor Esposito shared his ideas and experiences in the field of Islamic Studies and touched upon some issues related to Christianity and some general controversial subjects such as religious pluralism. During the conversation he was impressed by the questions addressed by the female students to him.

He also elaborated on some controversial issues in the Catholic Church.
